Exhibit Animals are special animals that can be purchased in Planet Zoo. Unlike the larger megafauna, exhibit animals come pre-contained in large glass terrariums. Exhibit animals consist of smaller animals that would be unfit for large outdoor enclosures, such as small reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.
Descriptions[]
While terrariums can't be fully customized, many aspects of them can be. When purchased, the terrarium is largely empty aside from some plants. Through research, players can unlock new enrichment items for the animals such as heat lamps, climbing branches, and more. Certain animals such as reptiles will require a certain temperature and level of humidity to survive. These things can be adjusted manually, but this requires more power and thus costs more money.
As for the animals themselves, their needs are much more simplified than those of the megafauna. They do not move about their tanks on-screen. Instead, they will randomly change locations when not on-screen. The number of possible spawning locations will fluctuate as enrichment items are added and removed.

Trivia[]
- In the 1.9 Update, the water in Exhibits was made flexicolour.
- Update 1.11 added many new features to the exhibits:
- New walkthrough exhibit was added. Only a small part of the exhibit animals can be used in a walkthrough exhibit, as of Update 1.13 only the bats, butterflies, and sloths can be used. The animals in these types of exhibits have a wider variety of loops, such as flight, in the case of the bats and butterflies, and even moving from point A to point B, as is the case of the sloths.
- Educators can now hold some of the exhibit animals, either with 1 hand, both hands, or on their shoulder (see the full Update 1.11 notesfor the full list of animals this feature includes).
- Exhibits now have an automated exhibit population management system, making it much easier for players to control the number of animals they have in their exhibits (see the full Update 1.11 notes for more details).
- Standard exhibits can now be customized with custom exhibit facades/backgrounds.
- Exhibit cameras have been improved, making it easier to observe the animals inside.
